Update on Keanu's finger situation

Well guys, guess what, his finger is broken. It's very slight, right on the edge of the 3rd knuckle on the growth plate. It's almost like a hang nail that you scale down the edge of your finger, just it's inside. He was pretty bummed about it. He had to get a cast and be out of football until his October 13 game. I explained to him that God makes things happen for a reason, but he is still not very happy about. He will still continue to practice and condition like the rest of the team. Pray for me, there is nothing like a kid that really wants to be on the field.........I will put pictures of the cast on later tonight

Battle 2007

Last night the Coastal Tritons played the Steele Canyon Cougars. We knew it would be a tough game but man. They got the first touchdown, then we answered back. K-train barrelled through the line and ran it in for a touchdown. Extra point no good for eother side. This went on for the rest of th half. At the half it was 14-14. As team mom I have to go down and help with snack for the boys. When I got over there, I found out that Keanu had a dislocated finger, sorry no picture of the finger while it was popped out because I was unaware that it had happened. But here is one of the finger today One of his coaches is a fire fighter and he popped it back in. Fear set in and he did not want to carry the ball anymore in the game. The coach buddy taped it and told him that it Was ok if he did not want to carry the ball anymore he could just stay on defense the rest of the game. Well that soon diminished because they got another touchdown into the 3rd quarter. Since Keanu and Josh Fuller are the strongest offensive players that can move the ball up the field, they needed both of them. While Keanu was taking a hiatus, his good friend Jason stepped into his position as tailback/running back/receiver and helped to move the ball towards the goal line. Keanu finally came back in on defense sacked the QB a few times and then we had the ball again. Keanu rushed for over 60 yards in one run totaling 142 yards this game and then ran it in to make the score 20-20. It was 27 secs left on the clock we got down to the 1 yard line, they held us, 14 secs left, according to the boys Fuller made it in and was pushed back out, however, once in you're in and it should have been a touchdown, 7 secs left Jack was down and under center to call the play and the ref didn't blow the whistle so the score stayed 20-20, no win no loss. There were alot of missed calls and penalties but the boys kept their head up and they know that they won that game. It sucks when people cheat to win. Here is a shot of the sun going down in East County
Prior to the game we stopped to take some pictures before we left for the game:

CHEERLEADERS! EWWWWWWWWWWWWWW! All in all the boys all played great and they really showed great sportsmanship and they worked as a team. We had a great night. GO TRITONS!!!!!!

R U Ready for some FOOTBALL? You Betcha'

Last nights home opener was AWESOME! The team played well and I am some what biased about my kid, HE PLAYED GREAT. Keanu had 6 QB sacks, 1 TD and 20 plus tackles and 82 yards rushing. The final score, I thought it was 39-0, it was actually 45-0 per the coaches today at pictures.

As I mentioned it was picture day and we headed off to Vacation Isle, where the pics would be taken at 1130. My nephew Jaleel spent the night with us. I think that probably was a bad idea because now he really wants to play football and his mom said, NO! He will be bcak in 2 weeks and we will work on MOM! As we waited the younger kids went down to the rockas and sand to play. The weather was good and the tide was fairly low. Adrenna's flip flop kept coming off and floating away but thanks to a very brave Jaleel it was saved. He went in the water to go get it. Here are a few photos from our hour at the water.

End of Summer

I know it has been a while. I have been experiencing some personal challenges over the last 10 weeks or so. I have come to the conclusion that it is that last week of July and the entire month of August that I lose it, I fall off the truck in regards to my family schedule. Oh well, it's September and I am back on track. With a new school year also comes football. Dj is playing freshman ball at the high school and Keanu is playing his last season with the Tritons. Keanu also has had to change schools. I could not see going to 4 different schools in the morning, so he is now attending school with Adrenna. We also have left our previous place of worship. We now attend The Rock, http://www.therocksandiego.com/. The kids had the privelege to attend summer camp with the church. As you can see they had lots of fun. Keanu was baptized while at camp. Although he had been baptized earlier this year, I know that God touched him personally and he made the statement himself in front of his peers. Dj rededicated his life and so did Adrenna. I am so grateful to God that they were able to have this experience.
